"Just as I have forgiven you, you must also forgive."
– Colossians 3:13
My beloved child,
Forgiveness is one of the hardest things I ask of you.
And yet, it is one of the greatest keys to freedom.
Not for the one who hurt you…
But for you.
I know what was done to you.
The words. The actions. The injustice. The disappointment.
I’m not saying it was right.
I’m not saying it was okay.
But I am saying:
“Let it go — before it eats you alive from the inside.”
Forgiving does not mean forgetting.
It means allowing Me to be the Judge —
so you no longer have to remain imprisoned
by bitterness and resentment.
Forgiving doesn’t mean you’re weak.
It means you are strong enough
to break the chains
and move forward.
Forgiveness is not approving what happened.
It’s choosing not to keep suffering because of the past.
I know what you’re thinking:
“But they don’t deserve to be forgiven.”
And you’re right.
But you…
You deserve to be free.
Because when you forgive,
you don’t just do it for them.
You do it for your own heart —
so I can heal it.
Forgiveness is not always a feeling.
Sometimes it’s a choice you make again and again.
And every time you choose it,
you break another link in the chain
and come closer to Me.
You know…
I have forgiven you, too.
Fully.
Unconditionally.
No strings attached.
When you live in My arms as a forgiven child,
you will also find the strength to let others go
and trust Me with the rest.
Shall we pray together?
Heavenly Father, it’s hard to let go.
You know the pain, the wounds, the disappointment.
But I don’t want to stay trapped in bitterness.
Help me to forgive, just as You have forgiven me.
Fill my heart with Your peace.
Amen.
