Dear child,
Fasting is not a ritual.
It is not a show.
It is a holy secret between you and Me.
When you fast,
you call your spirit back from the noise of the world.
You say, “Lord, You are my bread.”
Your body may grow weak—
but your spirit awakens.
Fasting is not to convince Me,
but to cleanse yourself.

"But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,
so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting,
but only to your Father, who is unseen;
and your Father, who sees what is done in secret,
will reward you openly."
(Matthew 6:17-18)

Child,
some chains break only through fasting and prayer.
Some mountains move only when you seek Me
with all that you are.
Not to earn anything,
but to make space for My voice,
My power,
My glory.

Fasting teaches you what truly nourishes.
It opens your ears.
It humbles your heart.
And it makes you available
for the supernatural work
I long to do in you.

Pray with Me:
“Father, teach me to fast with purity.
Not from pride, not for attention,
but to seek You with all my heart.
Cleanse me. Speak to me.
Let Your power be made visible in my weakness.
Amen.”

For the one who fasts with a sincere heart
will be filled with heavenly strength.

Divine Source of All Life,
Fill us with the awareness of our eternal purpose in You, even as we abstain.
Help us recognize Your vision for the fast we undertake,

as we embrace our journey with purity of heart and everlasting intent.
